Princeton engineers developed a quantum chip with record-breaking qubit lifespan: coherence rates as high as 1.68 milliseconds on systems as large as 48 qubits. This is 15 times longer than qubits used by Google and IBM, marking an all-time best. Published in Nature (Nov 2025), this breakthrough could dramatically reduce error correction overhead and accelerate practical quantum computing.
